VOLCANO, Hawai’i
Since 2020, Pygoya has been painting daily at his residency in Volcano, Hawai’i. He considers this going full circle as a matured artist—from crayons to digital mouse to paint—in this ideal and idyllic setting to spend his golden years of life.
Located just miles from Volcano National Park, he creates in his painting studio that is surrounded by lush rainforest and sits on the active Kilauea volcano. This special land activates all his senses and charges his prolific creative output which now numbers in the thousands of paintings in three years.
